Beatrice Elizabeth Carey

Beatrice Elizabeth Carey – 71, of Kentville, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Scotts Bay, she was a daughter of the late Delbert and Leora (Dykens) Carey.

Beatrice enjoyed crocheting. She loved her suncatchers that created rainbows throughout her home. She would always get excited whenever she talked about them, there were multiple times that over 300 rainbows would appear on her walls, ceiling and floor. She enjoyed family picnics and country music. She had a special love for Elvis Presley, and collected many of his CD’s, tapes, posters, pictures, plaques, calendars and ornaments. Above all, mom loved her family and lived for the special moments when we were all together.

Beatrice is survived by her children, Mark (Kelly) Carey, Sackville; Terri (Gordie) LeBlanc, Cambridge; Delbert (Sheri) Carey, Medicine Hat, AB; and Amanda (Albert) Graves, Fredericton, NB; sisters, Deborah Blenus, Coldbrook; Sharon Carey (Graham Buckler), Bridgetown; Judy Carey (Roddy McCullough), Bellmont; and Vinetta (Robert) Hines, Waterville; brother, Donnie (Barb) Carey, Canning; previous husband, Maynard Pinch, New Minas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Henry Kelly; brothers, Frederick and Billy; and sister, Marie Banks.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in Scotts Bay Cemetery, Scotts Bay. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association.
