Virginia Rose (Snell) Rafuse

1952-2021

Virginia Rose (Snell) Rafuse

Virginia Rose (Snell) Rafuse, 68 of New Ross - We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Virginia, on Saturday March 6th, 2021. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Frederick John Snell and Charlotte "Lottie" Vivian Rice. Virginia was an accomplished and compassionate nurse who truly loved being able to help those in their time of need. She furthered her nursing education all while working and raising her family. She was the foundation of our family, she always taught us to be caring and close, and made sure we had many family suppers and gatherings. Her only want in life was for her family to be happy. She did everything she could to better all of our lives and help us in anyway possible. She was always the first one to lend her heart and hand. Her family was her world, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Virginia was an amazing artist who enjoyed painting loving and thoughtful decorations on plaques and furniture, which was built by her husband, Wade. Her family will be forever surrounded with many brush strokes as a reminder of her love. In addition to painting, she loved her family pool gatherings, maintaining her beautiful gardens, going to the ocean, and baking. She would love to bake goodies for her kids, and always made 25 loaves of bread so there were lots to go around. Virginia’s strength, courage and faith endured to the end, and her family takes solace in knowing that she is now is at home with God. Words can not express how deeply she will be missed, she will truly be in our hearts forever, and her love will reverberate for generations. Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Wade; her children, Laura Rafuse, New Ross; Stacey (Keith) Chandler, Upper Vaughan’s; Jacob (Kimberley) Rafuse, New Ross; grandchildren, Samuel (Kayla), Abbey, Charlie, Nicolas (Mackenzie), Jaden (Emma), Benjamin, Josie, Luke, Willow and Great Granddaughter Layla. She is also survived by sisters, Mable Walker, New Ross; Mildred (Royce) Leopold, New Ross; Louise Powell, Airdrie; Jean (John) Snell, Monastery; Marianne (John) Stewart, Laggen;  Sharon Grealey, New Glasgow; brothers, Donald (Nancy) Snell, Merigomish; Barry (Pat) Snell, New Glasgow. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Fred and Fraser; sister-in-law, Connie Snell; brother-in-law’s, Allister, Fred and Ronald; and many half sisters and half brothers.
