Marion Katheleen Dorey

Marion Katheleen Dorey – age 77, of Cambridge, Kings County, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Port Hilford, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Janet (Rood) Reid. Marion worked as a caregiver and was employed as a CNA with various nursing homes. She also worked at Margaret’s Store, Waterville. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edward Dorey; daughters, Wendy Dorey (Michael Roberts), Burlington; Cindy (David) Joyce, Aylesford; Debbie Kaiser (Ken Coleman), Kentville; son, Bobby (Kathy) Dorey, Cambridge; grandchildren, Jeremy Dorey; Johnathan Dorey (Amy Graves); Katherine Dorey; Nicholas Dorey (Melinda Ward); Stephen Dorey; Emma Joyce; Andrew Joyce; Adam Dorey; Jessica Kaiser, with whom she had a special bond and Justin Kaiser; 12 great-grandchildren; Rick, Gloria and Sandra Rood, who she helped raise. Marion was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three grandsons, Daxon Dorey, Nicholas and Walter Kaiser; sister, Minnie Reid; brother, Johnny Reid and half-brother, Albert Rood; as well as three siblings in infancy. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private funeral service held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Rick Small officiating. There will be a video webcast of the funeral available at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS.
