Ethel "Joyce" (Eye) Graham

1928-2021

Ethel "Joyce" (Eye) Graham

Graham, Ethel "Joyce" (Eye) - age 92, formerly of Mississauga, passed away Sunday, 28th of February 2021 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Ethel Joyce Eye was born in Wolfville on 31st of March 1928 at the family farm on Eye Rd. She was the youngest of nine, born to George and Ethel (Pick) Eye.  Joyce graduated from Wolfville High School and attended Mack’s Business College before going to work with The Bank of Montreal in Halifax.  In 1956 she married F/O Allan H. Graham (Ottawa) at CFB Winnipeg. Over 36 years Al’s airline career took them across North America, mainly Winnipeg, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Edmonton and Toronto. Joyce gave up her banking career to take care of their growing family with her husband Al flying for Wardair. Their home became affectionately known as The Graham Hotel to friends and family. Joyce was a 30+ year volunteer and supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society. She found driving patients incredibly rewarding; this was probably responsible in part for her ever-sunny disposition. In May 2020 Joyce returned to the Valley and took up residence at Wedgewood House in Kentville. In spite of a growing pandemic, Joyce was able to reconnect with her family, mainly her sister and best friend, Barbara Eye (age 94). Joyce is remembered and survived by her family: Barbara (sister), Donald (son), Stacey and Lena (daughters-in-law), grandchildren Ava, Christian, and Matthew.  Joyce is predeceased by her husband, Al; her son, Allan, and by siblings, Kenneth, Basil, Victor, Vernon, Theda, Elliott, and Gerald. The family would like to thank Wedgwood House and Valley Regional Hospital for the compassionate care they provided over the last nine months. Donations in memory may be made to Valley Hospice https://valleyhospice.ca/. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
