Ann Elizabeth Painter

Ann Elizabeth Painter, 90. At home as she wished on March 22, 2021 with Helen and her friend Ruth by her side. Pre-deceased by her husband Robert "Bob". Much loved and missed by daughter, Helen; son, Neil; grandsons, Shawn, Alex, and Matthew; many friends. Ann bravely came on her own from England to Canada, met and married Bob in 1956. They lived in many locations across Canada, settling happily in Nova Scotia. Ann was accomplished at whatever she tried. Many of her creative skills were learned or taught at Hobbycrafters. Whether painting or caning chairs, her workmanship was always wonderful. She left a legacy of hand-painted Christmas ornaments that are cherished by family and friends. Ann was a Founding and Life Member of Valley Gardeners. She was an avid gardener who was incredulous that more people didn’t grow vegetables. Her African Violets were stunning. Ann rarely missed attending the Kentville Farmers’ Market where she delighted in the friendship of vendors and the bounty of treats and veggies. Ann loved "the woods", walking daily to observe the changes in season. She was especially pleased to be able to snowshoe right up until 90. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service by her request. Ann would be particularly delighted if you were to grow a veggie or two in her honour.
