James Ozrow Huntley

James Ozrow Huntley – age 87, of Centreville, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at home. Born in Scotts Bay, he was a son of the late Ozrow and Maude (Webb) Huntley. Jim worked at the Graves plant in Hillaton and Acadia University. He was later employed with T.P. Calkin from where he retired. He was an avid singer and had been a member of several groups, including the Fellowship Quartet (later the well-known Fellowship Trio). He was a member of the Glooscap Rebekah Lodge in Canning and the I.O.O.F. Orpheas Lodge in Wolfville and the Haley Square Dancers. Jim volunteered with Evergreen Home for Special Care and Fidelis House in Kentville. He is survived by stepdaughters, Lynda Baker (David); Rhonda Hathaway; stepsons, Eugene Schofield (Susan); Larry Schofield (Sham); sisters, Gwen Huntley and Norma Ferguson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his cats, Mitts and Tom (also known as "Pickle" and "Fleabag"). He was predeceased by his wife, Doris; sisters, Vesta, Abbie and Geraldine; brothers, Covert and Wilbur "Mick". A private funeral service will be held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place in the Jawbone Corner Cemetery, Canard. A video webcast will be available at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 4, 2021. Family flowers only, by request.
