Malcolm Glen "Mac" Elderkin
Malcolm Glen "Mac" Elderkin – 90, of Wolfville, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was the youngest child of Angus and Betsy (Paulson) Elderkin and the last surviving member of his immediate family. He worked with the Bank of Montreal in various branches in the Maritimes and Quebec, then with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Kentville, until retirement. He is survived by his wife, Lorna (Palmeter, LeBlanc); daughters, Anne (Willie) Curley, Vancouver; and Sherry Rumney (Carl Ruud), Calgary; and their mother, Joyce Portous DeWitt; stepchildren, Michele Sharkey, New Minas; Marc (Jane) LeBlanc, Ottawa; and Jana (Jacob) Lacquement, Florida; grandchildren, Joshua and Jennifer Rumney; step grandchildren, Sarah Borys, Zachary Sharkey and Michael LeBlanc; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Kimberly Elderkin; brothers, William "Bud" and his wife Ruth; and M. Paulson "Paul" and his wife Louise; sister, Laverne Rabatich and her husband Dr. Steve Rabatich; and niece, Betsy Elderkin. The family would like to express their sincere thanks of appreciation to the staff of Evergreen Home for the care, kindness and compassion shown to Mac. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A private family interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, NS.
