James Whitford Frank "Jim" Wentzell
James "Jim" Whitford Frank Wentzell - age 72, of Centerville passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Lunenburg he was the son of late Captain Josiah and Ruth (Reinhardt) Wentzell. He obtained a diploma in mechanical engineering technology from the Institute of Technology; a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Mary’s University and his Chartered Accountant (CPA) designation. Jim moved to the Annapolis Valley to begin his career in accounting, which led him to finance director at Valley Regional Hospital, then onto executive director for all Western Regional Hospitals and finally head of NSAHO. Upon retirement he returned to accounting and income tax services. He was a past member of various nonprofit organization and boards and was always there to provide his input. He was a family man who adored his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed cottage life at Sherbrook Lake including boating, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, cards, cooking and if the right song would play, he would be singing and dancing with a pretend microphone. His sense of humor would lighten the room with his jokes, guessing games and quotes from songs. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sue (Miller) and infant grandson, Dylan Reagh. He is survived by daughters, Christine, grandchildren Zackary and Madison Angermann, Kentville, NS; Rebecca (Shane Reagh), grandson, Cole, Falmouth, ME; sister, Dorothy McEvoy; and niece, Elizabeth Henderson, Brunswick, ME; sister-in-law, Carol Parsons and nephews, Greg (Kathy) Parsons, Halifax, NS and Barry Parsons, Eastern Passage, NS, who was more like a brother and best friend. Cremation has taken place under the direction of White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There will be no visitation by request. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, NS.
