Anley Douglas Ells

Anley Douglas Ells – 86, of White Rock, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2021, in Grand View Manor, Berwick, after a long illness. He was the son of the late Ralph A. and Rosie (Long) Ells. Born in Wolfville, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family and a lifelong resident of White Rock. He attended school in White Rock, then attended Mack Business College. Anley worked on the family farm and in the General Store (R.A. Ells and Sons) for many years. Later he worked for Canada Post retiring after 23 years of service. Anley loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four wheeling. He was an avid softball and hockey player. He lived life to the fullest, travelling throughout Nova Scotia and Canada. He loved family gatherings at his cottage and up in Cape Breton. Always ready to listen to a good story or joke, Anley will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor and his storytelling. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly (Christie); his loving son, Kipp Ells (Dawn Fralic); granddaughters, Larissa and Cassidy; his sister-in-law, Marjorie Ells, number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Glennie Westcott, Maxine MacNeil, Louise Elderkin; brother, Laurie Ells; and nephew, Curtis MacNeil. There will be no visitation, by request. A private funeral service will be held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Family flowers only, by request. A video webcast of the service will be available at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2021. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Family would like to thank the medical staff at Valley Regional Hospital, Grand View Manor and VON for their care and comfort to Anley.
