Muriel Frances Wood

1949-2021

Muriel Frances Wood

It is with broken hearts our family would like to share the loss of our beloved Mom, wife and Nanny. Muriel Frances Wood - age 71, surrounded by her family, passed peacefully in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Muriel was born on September 23, 1949 and was the youngest daughter of the late Harry and Reta Peters (Westport, NS). Mom enjoyed her family time, sewing, crafts, gardening, interior decorating, driving her convertible and most of all, shopping. She was always dressed to the nines, hair and makeup in check. Mom always liked to reflect on her younger days attending KCA school, working at her family’s diner, Peter’s Lunch, going to the dances in the ballroom at the Cornwallis Inn and all the shenanigans her and her sisters could think of. Mom settled down in South Alton when she married Everette and had two daughters, Heather and Julie. Years would pass and life changes set her on a new journey as she married Peter, who predeceased her in a car accident. They lived a good life and Charla and David became part of our dynamic family. The last 18 years she spent with her husband, Don, loving their many fur babies, at which time Travis and Trevor joined our family. She cherished many wonderful friends she met during her many years at the Housing Authority and then at Charm Diamond and Alia Tanjay for her "fun" jobs after retirement. The last bit of life was hard on her, but she took it in stride and handled it with grace. Her grandchildren, Alexandria, Noah, Lauren, Brooklynn, Jarred, Jaimee, Bella, Michael, Corey and Sydney all loved her deeply. Her great granddaughter, little Miss Addilyn, was her special girl. She was predeceased by parents, Harry and Reta (Dakin) Peters; husband, Peter Keddy and nephew, James Woolaver. She is survived by husband, Donald Wood; daughters, Heather Nauss-Levy (Peter), Julie Richards; step-children, David Keddy (Roben), Charla Keddy, Trevor Wood (Danalee), Travis Wood (Amy); grandchildren, Alexandria Grace, Noah Fry (Sarah) Lauren Richards (Mason), Brooklynn Richards, Jaimee Levy, Jarred Levy, Isabella Wood, Michael, Tracey, Sydney Keddy, Corey Keddy; sisters, Martha Pineo (David), Mary Freeman; niece, Susan Dauphinee (John); nephew, Darrell Bezanson (Shannon); several great nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and regulations, a private celebration of life will be held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A video webcast of the service will be available at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in Muriel’s memory can be made to the ALS Society or the SPCA.
