Rockey William Reid

Well-known local businessman, Rockey Reid, 64, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at his home in New Minas. A self-taught mechanic, there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix or piece together with spare parts and wire. Rockey was known throughout the Valley as a colorful man with a gentle soul, who would give the shirt off his back, provided he was wearing one, which he often wasn’t. Rockey was not a rich man in dollars, but he was unsurpassed in his wealth of friends. To know him, was to love him. Rockey was especially loved by his grandson Cole.

He was predeceased by his parents, Brent and Betty (Keddy) Reid; sisters, Linda Reid and Faye, in infancy.

He is survived by his children, Melanie (Todd O'Rourke), Rockey Jr. "Budd" (Lacey) and Ashley; grandchildren, Keely, Cole, Allie, Rockey III and Carlyle; two great grandsons; sisters, Amy Pothier (Eugene), Donna Isnor (Alan) and brother, Brian (Chrissie); special friend, Linda Lawrence and princess, Jackie; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and his legion of friends.
