Lloyd Merlin Carter
Carter, Lloyd Merlin – age 86, of Kentville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Canning, he was a son of the late Archibald and Ellen (Brewster) Carter.
Lloyd served in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces. He worked for Canard Poultry and retired from A.C.A. Poultry in 1995. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball for Meadowview and Canning. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and darts, and watching sports.
Lloyd is survived by daughter, Lucille (David) Connors, Kentville; five stepchildren, Charles (Vina) Gee, Kentville; Charleton (Jacqueline) Rhynard, Coldbrook; Billie (Liz) Rhynard, Kentville; Dorothy Rhynard, Kentville; Elizabeth (Richard) Kozlowski, Canaan; stepdaughter-in-law, Marion Gee, Kentville; sister, Edna Harvie, New Minas; sister-in-law, Barbara Moore, Kentville; grandson, Matthew Connors, Greenwood; granddaughter, Lacey (Adam) Connors, Kentville; three great grandchildren, Chance, Carter and Lexie Connors; 23 step-grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; and special friend, Joan Smith. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Gee); step-daughter, Rose Schofield; step-son, Joseph Gee; sister, Florence Fraser and brother, George.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
In accordance with the Nova Scotia Proof of Full Vaccination Policy, proof of full vaccination will be required to attend visitations, services and receptions held in or by the White Family Funeral Home.
For those unable to attend, there will be a webcast of the service available by visiting www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com. Interment will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Meadowview Development Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
