Lois Elinor Schofield

With great sadness, the family of Lois Elinor (MacDonald) Schofield announces her passing on September 28, 2021.

Lois was born at the family home in Avonport on September 3, 1928, a daughter of the late Russel and Mary (Holmes) MacDonald. For a number of years, Lois was employed with T. Eaton Co. and later with Acadia University. She was an active member of the Wolfville Senior Citizens Club, serving for many years as secretary. Lois was also involved in civic affairs and was instrumental in having sidewalks installed in Greenwich and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Lois took great pride in keeping an immaculate home and was well known for her knitting and pie-making skills. Her hobbies included walking, bowling and puzzle-solving. She especially enjoyed bus trips with her sisters and watching Blue Jays ball games.

Lois is survived by son, Wayne (Linda) of New Minas; daughters, Mary of Halifax and Wendy (Darwin) of Idaho; grandchildren, Karla, Jody, Trevor, Krista, Lesa, Karri, Amanda, Brandon and Candice; sister, Roxie Redden, Berwick; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Albert; siblings, Mary, William, Clarence, Laura Hutt, Elizabeth McBay, Shirley Burgess, Doris Lawrence, Ida Hirtle, Jean Sanford, Helen Huntley and Margaret Workman.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A private graveside service will be held in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. A video webcast of the graveside service will be available after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

In accordance with the Nova Scotia Proof of Full Vaccination Policy - Effective October 4, 2021 - Proof of Full Vaccination is required to attend visitations, services and receptions held at the White Family Funeral Home or hosted by the White Family Funeral Home.
