Ernest Gerald "Ernie" Sinclair

Ernest Gerald "Ernie" Sinclair – age 95, of Kentville, passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Friday, January 7, 2022 with family by his side. Born in Vancouver, BC he was a son of the late Charles and Helen (Brown) Sinclair.

Ernie is survived by his son, Paul, Calgary, AB; daughters, Ann (Roger) Long, Coldbrook; Catherine (Kevin) Toole, Maple Grove; Wendy (Roy) MacDonald, Utah; Candace (Ken) Kennedy, Red Deer, AB; and Lynn (Murray) MacDonald, Fredericton, NB; brothers, Robert "Bob" Sinclair, Moncton, NB; and John (Laura) Sinclair, Saint John, NB; grandchildren, Christa (Scott) MacDonald, Scott (Cheryl) Long, Meagan (Kenneth) MacDonald, Matthew (Heather) Sinclair, Andrew (Darla) Toole, Christopher (Marilou) Toole, Alyson (Lauchie) MacLean, Peter (Kari) MacDonald, Gary (Marsha) MacDonald, Philip MacDonald and Carolyn (Josh) Dean; 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Steeves) his wife of 65 years, brother, William "Bill" and sisters-in-law Effie and Elda.

Dad will be remembered for his love of family, friends and strong faith. He spent most of his life working in sales. Dad loved life and enjoyed his orchard, gardening, boating, hunting, fishing and travelling. In later years he enjoyed picking blueberries with his great grandchildren and friends. Dad admired and stayed in close contact with his Valley farming friends.  Dad always enjoyed telling stories about his varied experiences in life.

After Mom’s passing, Dad moved into Camro Place, Cambridge where he made very special friends.  His last 16 months were spent at Wedgewood House in Kentville.  Special thanks is extended to their staff who provided Dad with exceptional care and kindness.

There will be no visitation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service will be held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A video webcast of the service will be available at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Interment will take place in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, at a later date. In accordance with the Nova Scotia Proof of Full Vaccination Policy, proof of full vaccination will be required to attend visitations, services and receptions held in or by the White Family Funeral Home. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
