Daniel Albert McNamara

1954-2022

Daniel Albert McNamara – age 67, of Centreville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Albert and Mary (Patterson) McNamara.

Daniel worked for Home Depot in the hardware department. He was a volunteer fire fighter with Canning District Fire Department. He enjoyed his motorcycle, his adventures with his wife, outdoors, learning the traits of carpenter building and spending time with his family, cat Lily and friends.  

Daniel is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Watt); sons, Patrick McNamara (mother, Leslie); and Matthew Willoughby (Kayla) and granddaughter, Isla; stepson, Jason (Michelle) Rivette, granddaughter, Emma (great-grandchildren, Lilium, Evianna and Anastasia) and granddaughter, Laura Rivette; half sister, Misty Kelley (Kinsman); stepsister, Corrina Kinsman-Rafuse; brother-in-law, John Bickerton (Donna); special family friend, Bonnie Rooney; his special friends, David Taylor (Sandra Weldon Taylor) and Fred (Brenda) Woodworth; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, other close friends and his loving pet cat – Lily.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Jessica McNamara; sister, Donna Bickerton (John) and sister, Bonnie Kinsman (Paul).

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Daniel’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral home services. A Celebration of Daniel’s life will take place on June 12, 2022, time and place to be announced.  Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society – Nova Scotia, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Nova Scotia Addiction Services.
