Edwin Gordon Lloyd

1935-2022

Edwin Gordon Lloyd
Edwin Gordon Lloyd

It is with broken hearts and deep sorrow that the family of Edwin Gordon Lloyd announce his passing on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Dykeland Lodge in Windsor, NS. Edwin was born on December 4, 1935 on the Prospect Mountain in Cambridge, NS to Thomas and Kathleen (Fredericks) Lloyd. While growing up in Prospect and during the time that he lived in Waterville, Cambridge and New Minas his family and friends knew him affectionately by his nickname, "Bun or Bunny".

As someone who experienced life as a child during the Great Depression, Edwin was eager to leave school at an early age to join the workforce and start earning a living. He worked on various farms, on the railroad, at M.W. Graves Company and Roscoe Construction Limited.  He loved to work and keep busy and the harder the work was the more he enjoyed it. He was always on the go and enjoyed being outside most of all; going for long walks and bike rides, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting and most especially gardening. If there was ever a person with a green thumb, it was Edwin. He always grew a large bountiful vegetable garden and beautiful flower gardens.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor (Corkum) Lloyd; son, Lindsay Lloyd and sister, Madelyn Dominic.  He is survived by his sons, Victor Lloyd and Ron (Tammi) Lloyd; sisters, Elaine Theriault and Barbara Parks; grandsons, Shane Morse and Jonathan Morse and their mother Janice Morse; granddaughter, Cassandra Lloyd; extended family, David (Susan) Corkum and very dear friend and companion, Doreen Corkum.

The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Patricia MacDonald, VON and the doctors, nurses and staff at the Valley Regional Hospital and Dykeland Lodge for their exceptional care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 in Cambridge Baptist Church, Cambridge, Kings County.
