Lorne Edwin Davidson

Well known farmer and lifelong resident of Gaspereau dies at the age of 101. 

Lorne Edwin Davidson passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Monday, February 14, 2022 at the age of 101. Born on January 16, 1921, he was a son of the late Edwin and Wava (Coldwell) Davison.

Born into a farming family, Lorne became a highly successful dairy farmer, partnering with his brother, Clair, and then his two sons, in owning and operating Dabro Farms. He also had many apple orchards and was a Gaspereau square net fisherman. He was a life member of Gaspereau United Baptist Church and sang in the church choir for over 70 years. He held numerous positions on many church committees. He also served on many different Agriculture boards and committees. Lorne was always up for a challenge and willing to try something new.

Lorne is survived by his sons, Shawn (Laura) and Darren (Nadine) Davidson, both of Gaspereau; grandchildren, Ben Davidson, Matt Davidson, Chad (Lauren) Davidson, Nadia (Keigan) Levy, Kyla Davidson (Owen Cogswell) and Curtis Davidson (Leah Newcombe); great-grandchildren, Anna, Clara, Issac and Aiden.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Hulda (Coldwell); brother, Clair (Laura) Davidson; and a son in infancy. 

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in Gaspereau Cemetery. For those unable to attend, a video webcast of the service will be available on Wednesday, June 29. Donations in memory may be made to Gaspereau United Baptist Church.
