Janet Eleanor Buckler

BUCKLER, Janet Eleanor – age 81, of Kingston, NS, passed away peacefully with her children at her side on February 23, 2022 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Margaretsville, she was a daughter of the late Otto "Wilbur" and Florence "Eileen" (Hudgins) Nixon; sister to Sylvia (Gary) Walsh, the late Linda Crawford, and Rosalie (Eric) Fisher; sister-in-law to Stuart Crawford; and special cousin of Phyllis (Brian) McNutt. She was the wife of the late Albert Buckler; and mother to Darrell (Maxine) Buckler of Kingston, Tanya (Brian) Poulton of Mount Uniacke, and Natalie (Matthew) Schurman of Coldbrook. She was also the proud grandmother of seven wonderful grandchildren: Justin, Kent, Evan, Alex, Megan, Noah and Nathan; and one wonderful great grandchild, Bennett Buckler. Janet lived in Kingston for over 50 years. Janet and Albert were members of the Kingston Lions Club and Janet enjoyed the Lionettes. She was also a member of the Kingston United Church ladies auxiliary and helped out with Church luncheons. Janet enjoyed gardening, painting and baking throughout her years as well as having a family pet by her side. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, children, grandchildren, friends and family. Janet enjoyed her last five years in Berwick at Peggy Silvers seniors’ home with wonderful caregivers. We would like to send out our sincere appreciation for her care. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 in Kingston United Church, Kingston, Kings County.
