Mary Margaret (Stevens) (Pinch) Milbury

1936-2022

Mary Margaret (Stevens) (Pinch) Milbury

Mary Margaret (Stevens) (Pinch) Milbury – It is with sorrow we announce the passing of our mother after a lengthy illness fought with dignity and grace, on May 19, 2022, at the age of 85, at Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Stevens and Bessie (Benjamin) Stevens.

Mary worked for Sanisteam Laundry, Wolfville and Wades Grocery, Kentville for many years prior to retiring. Mary’s love of country music and dancing were well known. Many Saturday’s you would find her at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #6, enjoying dancing and laughing with family, friends and strangers alike. She made many lifelong friends this way.  Mary loved a kitchen party. Everyone would bring their instruments and we would dance, sing and play cards. We enjoyed many of those with her through the years. Mary had a sharp wit, a great sense of humor, and telling an off color joke was not unheard of! One of her greatest joys was listening to her father play the fiddle. Mary also had a love of gardening and enjoyed bingo. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother.

Mary is survived by her children, David (Janice) Pinch, St. Catharines, ON;  Darlene (Tim) Lindsay, Strathmore, AB; Marilyn (George) Misner, Kentville; Melvin (Doris) Pinch, New Minas; brothers, Asaph Stevens, Centreville; James Stevens, New Minas and Malcolm Stevens, New Minas; sisters, Pearl Atwell, Campbell River, BC; Elaine Keddy, Edmonton, AB; and Glenda Woodworth, New Minas; grandchildren, Tyrone Smyth-Pinch, Rachelle Mercier (Derrick), John Lindsay, Michael Lindsay (Victoria), Brandon Lindsay (Kelly), Jasmine Lindsay (Mike), Mitchell Misner (Vanessa), Gregory Misner (Stephaine), Matt (Tia) Pinch and Jeff (Kayla) Pinch; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Albert Benjamin; sister, June Cameron; and grandson, Donald Smyth.
