Marywynn McLean

Marywynn McLean

July 27, 1938 - June 11, 2022

Beloved daughter of Ken and Hilda and sister to Dick and Gord (all predeceased). Marywynn was born in Toronto and had fond memories of her first home in The Kingsway. She grew up in Lindsay, Ontario where the family had purchased and ran the Sylvester Steel Products Co. She graduated from the Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in London, Ontario. Unconditional loving mother of Brooke, Duff, Lauren, Scott, and Karen. Ever present Aunty of Deb, Misty, Karen, Jamie, Frazer, Cameron, and Kira. Nanna to Elisa, Michael, Erin, Sophie, Mathew, Ethan, Emric, Rachael, Lance, Ellawynn and her three great-grandchildren. Marywynn cherished nothing more than gathering with friends and family. From a childhood spent at Lake Joe, to family summers at Bald Lake, to get-togethers in Fenelon Falls, she was happiest with the lake in full view, boating and swimming on the agenda, and surrounded by those she loved. Marywynn faced many unexpected challenges throughout her life and dealt with them with unfaltering kindness, curiosity, and optimism. She found inspiration in the intelligent, artistic, and independent women in her extended family and admired Kersten, Karen G., Julie, Amanda, Catherine, and Krista. She held unbridled gratefulness to Aunty Jane, Jan and Bob, Lynn and Lee, Dorthia, Herbie, Mary, Lib, and Kay for their unwavering love, friendship, and generosity. An open informal life celebration for her friends and family will be held at 17 Cornerbank Cr., Stouffville, 3 - 9 p.m. July 9, 2022. Marywynn will be entombed near her parents at Riverside Cemetery in Lindsay. In lieu of flowers and if so desired, a donation in her memory may be made to Raincoast Conservation Foundation, https://www.raincoast.org/donate/ or email [email protected] to facilitate.
