Shirley Marie Pinch
1949-2022
Shirley Marie Pinch – age 72, of Berwick, formerly West Brooklyn, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert and Myrna (Schofield) Whiston.
Shirley attended Central Kings in Cambridge. She married her best friend, Kenneth in 1970 and had been employed at Canada Foods and Stirling’s while raising their two beautiful children. Shirley loved talking with her mother-in-law, Leota, listening to her stories and jokes. She enjoyed dancing, music, especially old-time rock and roll, and annual family gatherings. She was a longtime member of the West Brooklyn Baptist Church and more recently, of the Berwick Baptist Church. Shirley attended many church functions and plays. She loved tending to her flower garden, decorating her front yard for children and celebrating the Lord’s birth. She would want to be remembered for her sense of humour and love she had for her family and many friends. Family meant everything to Shirley, especially her grandbabies. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Doris Pinch, Berwick; son, Ken (Linda), Waterville; grandchildren, Aubrey Pinch, Tamara Pinch, Courtney Pinch, Hayley Pinch, Kayla Pinch, Arianna Pinch, Gregory Robertson; sisters, Ena (Richard) Balsor, Berwick; Mable (Justin) Balsor, Cambridge; Helen (Dan) Draper, Sackville; Doris (Robert) Kelly, West Brooklyn; Wanda (Billy) Naugler, New Ross; brothers, Ernie (Phyllis), Lakeville; Jerry (Pat, deceased), Waterville; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughter, Karen Anne, in infancy; sister, Evelyn Dunham and brother, Robert.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in the West Brooklyn Cemetery, Reverend Evan Colford officiating. A reception will follow in the West Brooklyn Community Hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Berwick Baptist Church – Group for Kids – "Glow".
