Mildred Muriel Ells

Mildred Muriel Ells – 96, of North Alton, Kings County, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 in Shannex – Blomidon Court, Greenwich. Born in Aylesford, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen (Fiendel) Sweet.  In her early years, Mildred had been employed as a housekeeper and caregiver for the Fenerty family in Canard and later the Burgher family in New Minas. She was an active and faithful member of the North Alton Baptist Church and served the North Alton Community in various capacities over the years. Mildred enjoyed crafts and needlework, especially knitting and crocheting. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, homemaker and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by a daughter, Gladys (Wayne) Starratt, Upper Canard; two grandchildren, Shawn (Tammy) and Wanda Starratt; four great grandchildren; Bradley, Shawna (Dane), Oscar Grant (Talitha) and Shawn-Tyler (Katie); seven great great grandchildren, Oliver, Kenny, Charleigh, Dominic, Orion, Leo and Luca; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years Freeman (2016); sisters, Lavine, Leitha, Verna and Elva; brothers, Berlyn and Earl. There will be no visitation by request, A graveside service for family will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 in the Canard Burial Ground, Upper Canard, Kings County, Greg White officiating. Family flowers only, by request. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers and staff of Shannex – Blomidon Court for the loving care, kindness and support for Mildred over the past four years. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
