Phyllis Marie Butler

Phyllis Marie Butler – age 91, of New Minas, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at home. Born in Medford, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Jennie (Fancy) Carey. Phyllis worked in communications at the Victoria General Hospital, was President of the NSGEU, was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville and was a 25-year member of the Catholic Women’s League, St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a big Sidney Crosby fan. She is survived by daughters, Catherine, Deborah, Patricia, Jessica; son, Joe Jr. (Dulcie); numerous grandchildren, lots of great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Uschi; Godson, David McDougall; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by children, Heather and Allen; sisters, Annie Harvie, Julia Rogers, Gloria Brannon and Beulah Surette. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. A celebration of Phyllis’ life will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2022, in the Multipurpose Room of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville.
