Brian Douglas Hazel

Brian Douglas Hazel – age 81, of Canning, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Canning, he was the son of the late Roy and Hilda (Porter) Hazel. Brian had been employed in business services with MT&T for 33 years and retired at the age of 49. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Habitant Branch No. 73, Canning, an active volunteer and enjoyed playing 45’s. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Emily (Sheffield); daughter, Anne-Marie Hazel (Robert Stark); sons, Stephen (Doreen); Kevin (Cindy), all of Digby; grandchildren, Aaron, Marissa and Colton; stepdaughters, Cindy MacBride (Scott Taylor), Tanya MacBride (Ted Champion), Tara (Lee) Kaizer; step-grandchildren, Alec Flanagan, Nora Kaizer and Nick Kaizer; sister, Cheryl Carter and extended family. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 in the Pereaux Cemetery, Kings County, Reverend Doctor Mark Parent officiating. For those unable to attend, a webcast of the service will be available for viewing at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Canning Legion. All are welcome. Donations in memory may be made to Royal Canadian Legion, Habitant Branch No. 73, Canning.
