Audrey Frances (Messem) Griffin – 72, of Port Williams, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2022 at home with her husband, Stuart, by her side. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Ethel (Grant) Messem.

Prior to retirement, Audrey was a commissioner with the RCMP. She was a member of Port Williams United Baptist Church, Port Williams Volunteer Fire Department, TOPS, Community Citizen’s Patrol and was a Port Williams Lioness. She was an avid reader, loved Bingo, shopping, flowers and volunteering in Port Williams. She looked forward to the annual Port Williams Days and always hosted a BBQ in support of TOPS.

Audrey is survived by her husband of 35 years, Stuart Griffin; children, Adam Griffin, Port Williams; Belinda Griffin (Jason Strickland), New Minas; and Bethlyn (Trevor) Hird, Aldershot; brother, James "Jim" (Pat) Messem, Greenwich; sisters, Ruth Arenburg, Port Williams and Sharon Hubley, Greenwich; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Messem, Port Williams; grandchildren, Elliot, Aurora and Grace; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, David Messem; half-sister, Shirley (Jim) LaChance; nephew, Christopher Arenburg; and great-niece, Karen Messem.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13 in Port Williams United Baptist Church, Port Williams. Reverend Elizabeth Johnson and Reverend Doctor Dan Green officiating. Interment will take place in Fox Hill Cemetery, Port Williams. For those unable to attend, a video webcast will be available on-line on Wednesday, December 14 by 2:00 p.m.
