Kirk Douglas Rogers
1963-2022
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kirk Douglas Rogers of Centreville, at the age of 59 years old. Kirk was the youngest child born to Claude and Freda (Davidson) Rogers in Chipman Corner, Kentville.
Kirk is survived by his mother, Freda Rogers; sons, Brent Rogers, and Logan Rogers; wife, Tanya; sisters, Velma, Elinor, and Connie; brother, Bruce and four lovely grandchildren. Kirk is predeceased by his father, Claude and daughter, Taylor.
In his younger years, Kirk enjoyed hockey and outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. Kirk always had a love for hard work. He started working in the well drilling business shortly after his father passed away. He worked in the business his father started, Valley Well Drilling, along with his older brother, Bruce. Later Kirk started his own business, K.D. Well Drilling, which he and his two sons continued to operate. Through his business, Kirk was well known to many people from Halifax to Yarmouth. People knew him to be fair and focused, he and his sons would often work long hours to finish the job. To those that knew him personally, knew him as a very confident person telling stories of the past and usually laughing at his own stories. Others would remember his Christmas lobster deliveries, and again telling a few more funny stories.
Kirk will be dearly missed by his family and friends. At the family's request, there will be no visitation or service at this time. A graveside celebration of life will be held later in the spring.
Cremation has been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line condolences and inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com
