Kathleen Helen Gertrude "Kathy" Mitchell

1957-2023

Kathleen Helen Gertrude "Kathy" Mitchell

It is with immense sadness the family of Kathleen Helen Gertrude "Kathy" (Cleveland) Mitchell announce her unexpected passing on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of June (Wade) Cleveland and the late Gary Cleveland.

Kathy worked as a CCA with Evergreen Home for Special Care in the Children’s wing for many years. She enjoyed her career and made a difference in every life she touched. After her retirement, if mom couldn’t be found at Evergreen visiting Ceildh, she was definitely out "running the roads" shopping. She LOVED to shop and we think she may have been one of ‘Avons’ top customers. She took pride in her appearance, always had a purse to match her shoes and took delight in displaying her "Bling". Mama had a lot of jewelry. Kathy adored her grandchildren, and always had a smile on her face that could light up any room. She will be deeply missed.

Kathy is survived by her mother, June; son, Dennis Mitchell; daughters, Holly and Robyn Mitchell; sisters, Christine (Derek) Meisner, Cindy Cleveland (Kevin) and Heather Cleveland; grandchildren, Jamie-Lee, Nate and Mariah; as well as many nieces, nephews.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Tim Mitchell; infant sister, Janet; and nephew-in-law, Earle VanTassell.

A Celebration of Kathy’s life will be held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. with memories being shared at 3:00 p.m. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.
