Lorna June Leschied
1938-2023

Lorna June Leschied - 84 of Kentville, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Clifford Travis and Doris Greenough Travis. June’s early life included being moved from London to north of England to escape the bombing during World War II. After the war she immigrated to Canada with her family. Carl and June raised their family in Newfoundland. June was an adventurous person who was a great storyteller and always up for a good laugh. June had a wide network of friends who she took great pleasure in maintaining those friendships throughout her entire life. June had a deep Christian faith and is now reunited with her beloved husband Carl; her eldest son Marcus; and two grandsons, Jared and Caleb. She loved her church family and made caring and loving for others a part of her daily life. June is lovingly remembered by her children, Heather (John Lohr), Port Williams; Stephen (Mandy), Cambridge; Jonathan (Jacqueline), Enfield; Jennifer (Christian Gloade), North Carolina; and Michael, Vancouver; grandchildren Justin, Aaron, Ben, Jonah, Jane, Kelsey, Allison, Molly and Jacob; and great grandchildren, Joshua, Leo, Abigail and Rupert. June’s family would like to thank Dr. Parker and the staff at Valley Regional Hospital ICU for the kindness and care they provided June the last week of her life. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A funeral service and reception will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Coldbrook Baptist Church, Coldbrook. Reverend Wayne Merrill officiating. For those unable to attend, a video webcast will be available on-line on Wednesday, January 18. A private family interment will take place in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or Coldbrook Baptist Church.
