Vance Glenne Raye Vaughan

Vance Glenne Raye Vaughan – 77, of Great Village, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at home. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Alice (Pudsey) Vaughan and the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Vance grew up in Greenwich and worked for Eastern Bakery as a bread truckdriver. He worked for the Bank of Montreal as branch manager for a number of years, before joining Mutual Life Insurance as an insurance agent. He enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels and was an attendant of Faith Baptist Church in Great Village. Vance found peace and strength in his relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was an avid golfer and sports fan, enjoyed coaching Little League and was a former member of Ken-Wo Golf Club in his earlier years.

Vance will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Elaine (Schofield); daughters, Michelle Vaughan (Dwayne Floyd), Louisburg; and Andrea (Peter) Gould, Londonderry; grandchildren, Ryan, Dean, Ava, Holly, and (adopted) grandchildren Brian and Robert McLean; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Arnie, Dean, Clarke and Alvin.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Pastor Steve Adams officiating. For those unable to attend, a video webcast will be available at the time of the service. Interment will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer Society of NS or a charity of choice.
