Keltie Anne Louise Donnellan

1956-2023

Keltie Anne Louise Donnellan

Keltie Donnellan, 66, of Port Williams, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023 after a valiant battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her husband Rev. Glen Donnellan, son Jeremy, grandson Caleb, and daughter-in-law Melissa. She is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Lamond, Linda Stubbs, Shelley Dollemont and Colleen Leadley; as well as 16 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews.

Keltie was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Eileen Stubbs; brothers, Bruce Stubbs and Gordon Stubbs; sister, Carmen Tait and niece, Jennifer Myers.

The most important thing in Keltie's life was her faith and relationship with God. She would tell you that the only reason she was who she was is because she would allow His light to shine through her daily. She was a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church. In 2004, Bishop Glen Donnellan and Keltie started New Life Ministries, which is still active today. She was also very active in the Nova Scotia district with supporting ladies Ministries. In her final days her faith was inspiring to all - that even in her brokenness she could only sing of the Goodness of God.

Keltie's spirit transcended all areas of her life. Her long and steadied nursing career was a true passion. For her, nursing was a calling, an artform that allowed the individual she cared for to maintain their sense of self, dignity and their own uniqueness - she was the nurse you wanted. Yet, she was much more than a good nurse, she was an educator, a leader and a mentor for all. She was humble, she did not speak about the awards or accolades that were showered upon her and hence we will not mention them here. She quietly and with dignity carried herself in such a professional manner that sometimes you never realized what you just learned until after she left your side. Perhaps her greatest legacy, other than her family, is the mark she has left on her second home and love, Inpatient Psychiatry at Valley Regional Hospital. From her improvements to patient care, through best practices for treatment and policy making, or setting up safety and educational programs that took place over the years. But, beyond all this Keltie's greatest accomplishment is the league of better nurses she has left behind to carry on her teachings. She was dedicated beyond belief, and we are forever touched by our angel on earth, and now in heaven.

Keltie favorite pastime was sitting on the sidelines watch her Bulldogs play football or on the court watching the Blue Devils play basketball. She loved watching and supporting Caleb and his teammates, they could do no wrong and win or lose she was always proud of them. They were all truly family to Keltie. Her favorite time of year was the three weeks she would spend at her trailer on Miller Lake Island where she worked as camp nurse. She loved her three Donnellan men fiercely and without boundaries. One of her fondest memories in her final days was the amount of joy and happiness she felt when all three of her Donnellan men walked into her room at Valley Regional Hospital on Christmas Eve night to spend time with her.

Special thanks to Debbie Muise who tirelessly came in nightly to help Keltie with her needs and to the doctors and nurses of Valley Regional Hospital - Medical B Unit. We will forever be grateful for the care you gave Keltie; we were truly touched by each one of you. Thank you all.
