Louise Theresa (Dean) Schaffner

Schaffner, Louise Theresa (Dean), 62 of Rice Point, PEI, formerly of Kingsport, NS  passed away March 9, 2023 at the PEI Provincial Palliative Care Centre in Charlottetown. Born October 8, 1960 in Fredericton, NB she was the daughter of the late Albert Andrew "Andy" and the late Lelia Veronica (O’Brien) Dean, the middle child of seven.  She recently retired from a job that she loved, as Administrative Assistant for the Kentville Police Service. Louise is survived by her husband, Barry Schaffner; stepchildren, Stephanie Schaffner and Kaitlyn Billard; and three step grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her dogs, Jaxon and Jayden. She will also be missed by her siblings: Anne (Craig) O’Donnell, Port Williams, NS; Anthony "Tony" (Bette) Dean, Port Stanley, ON; Linda Galloway, Stratford, PE; Kevin (Dawne) Dean, Arlington, NS; Karen (Noel) Doiron, Winsloe, PE; Kenneth (Sandi) Dean, Kingsport, NS. Louise loved to entertain and always made everyone feel welcome. She had a wonderful ability to see good in a person and make them feel they were important. Although Louise had no children of her own, she was blessed to have many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Each one held a special place in her heart. The family would like to thank the kind staff at the Palliative Care Centre for their wonderful support and care. As was Louise’s request, her body has been donated to Dalhousie Department of Anatomy and there will be no funeral service. A family celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
