Barry Raymond Leo Pottie

Barry Raymond Leo Pottie, 74, of Berwick, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at home. Born April 2, 1948 in Halifax, he was a son of the late Edgar "Ed" and Iris (Marryatt) Pottie. He said goodbye to his beloved wife of 42 years, Constance "Connie" (Cormier), in 2017.

Barry lived a life filled with family, work and cheer. He was loved by many and maintained friendships from his youth, through his career in Customs and Revenue, and his life as a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed hunting, music, and dedicated many years to volunteering with both minor and major hockey associations. Hospitality was another great joy; Barry loved a well-stocked pantry and putting food on the table for any and all. He was a faithful son, brother, son-in-law and brother-in-law; beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter, Laura Adele Pottie and her husband, Ashley Butler; son, Christopher "Chris" John Pottie and his wife, Robyn Campbell; grandchildren, Wyatt Butler, Wren Butler and Amos Butler; brothers, Carl (Lynda) Pottie and Edgar (Sandra) Pottie; and extended family.

Cremation has taken place. A joint memorial for Barry and his beloved late wife, Connie, will take place in May and will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
