Patricia Maude "Pat" "Patsy" (Wamboldt) Balcom

Patricia Maude "Pat" "Patsy" (Wamboldt) Balcom – 77, of Centreville, formerly of Kentville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in Valley Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late John and Eileen (Redden) Wamboldt.

Prior to retirement, Pat worked with the Canada Postal Service and was a bank employee for many years. She was well known as a "Quilter Extraordinaire" and enjoyed teaching quilting at KCA night classes, as well as in her home. Pat also enjoyed crafting, was a founder of Hobby Crafters in Kentville United Church and she attended Canaan Mountain Church. Pat enjoyed travelling and spending time at their summer home on Aylesford Lake. She lived life to the fullest and cherished being a mother, wife and grandmother. Above all, family was of utmost importance to Pat, she was family oriented and loved her husband, son and grandkids with her entire heart.

Pat is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bernie Balcom; son, Brian "Andy" (Heather) Balcom, Lower Sackville; brothers, Sheldon (Pat) Wamboldt, Canaan; and Charlie (Judy) Wambolt, Sydney; sisters, Gail (Allison) Landry, Centreville, Sharon (Brian) Hillier, Brantford, ON; and Kathy Wamboldt (J. Blair Harvie), Brickton; and grandsons, Brayden and Evan Balcom.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Valley Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion shown to both Pat and her family. You are truly angels on earth and your kindness will never be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Pat’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in memory may be made to Myeloma Canada.
