Roland Ray "Rollie" Young
1980-2023
It is with heavy hearts the family of Roland Ray "Rollie" Young, age 42, of Kentville, NS, announces his passing on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Born on June 17, 1980, he was the son of Darlene Young (Chris Goucher) and the late Roland Rogers Sr.
Most importantly for Rollie was his deep love for family. He cherished spending time with his baby girl, Kailee, and sharing his love of camping and bonfires at the shore with her. The passing of Kailee at such a young age left Rollie with a brokenness that only a parent knows, and our family takes solace in knowing they are together again.
Roland continued to share this love with his fiancé, Jaymie. Their recent adventures would see them travelling from NFLD to Ontario, never sure what would be waiting for them but knowing together they could handle anything they did.
Rollie will be missed every day by those who were fortunate enough to have loved him and been loved by him, and no one loved him any more than his mommy. He was her "Gentle Giant", whose smile lit her world, whose laughter filled her soul, whose hugs warmed her heart and who always remained her baby boy. Though their time together on this earth may have ended way too soon, the Mother-Son bond they share knows no boundaries as their souls remain tied forever.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, Roland is survived by his fiancé, Jaymie Williams; brother, Dakota Rousseau; numerous aunts, uncles and extended family.
He was predeceased by his father, Roland Sr.; the light of his life daughter, Kailee Lenihan; paternal grandparents, Don and Julia Rogers; and maternal grandparents, Joan and Garnet Young.
"I will hold you in my heart, until I can hold you in Heaven."
