Sally Edna Brommit

1959-2023

Sally Edna Brommit

It is with open hearts and deep sorrow that we say goodbye to our dear, sweet Sally who passed away on April 15, 2023 (age 63) in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. She was surrounded by the vibrant love and compassion of her family in her final hours.

Sally was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend (the geels): touching many hearts over her lifetime. She spent her youth on the family farm where she enjoyed the simple pleasures of swimming, singing, playing piano, guitar, and gathering stories to share later in life. She was an excellent student, graduating from Dalhousie University and becoming an X-ray technician at the Valley Regional Hospital.

Sally’s greatest purpose in life was the love of family and friends: her beloved husband, best friend and soulmate, Terry "Bub"; her great passion, daughter, Heidi "Heidi Bug"; her stepdaughters, to whom she opened her home and heart - "We thank you for choosing us. You are loved beyond measure."

While Sally’s body became weak over the years, her mind and spirit remained fierce with will and determination. She always kept her gratitude higher than her expectations, never complaining, always witty and ready for a laugh.

Sally leaves to grieve, her husband of 29 years, Terry Brommit; children, Heidi (Marc Vouligny), Angela (Jerry Seaboyer), Tera, Tricia (Dawson Sheehy); grandchildren, Aidan, Emily, Jordan, Saxson, Sonny; and furry friend, Honey.

She is survived by her dear friend and mother-in-law, Pauline Brommit; siblings, Brian (Phyllis), Susan Harvie (Larry Blaxland, deceased), John (Celia), Joyce Porter (JP Boudreau), Matthew (Carolyn).

She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Auleen Harvie.

The family expresses great gratitude to the staff at Valley Regional Hospital. Thank you for providing a safe space for Sally to be showered with love, music and care in her last hours.

In lieu of flowers or donations, we suggest that you take a moment to hug a loved one, neighbour or friend. Walk in the woods for a moment, or hours. Life is precious, take the time to slow down, sponsored by Sally. Should you desire to give a donation in Sally's memory, Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada - Atlantic Division is suggested.

There will be a celebration of Sally’s life in warmer weather, on Sunday, June 4 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Millstone Harvest Brewhouse, 9146 Highway 221, Sheffield Mills, just as Sal would want. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
