Elsie "Jean" Manning

Elsie "Jean" Manning – age 96, of Kentville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Kathleen (Emery) Crowell. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and dedicated to ensuring her family and home were taken care of. She was formally trained by the Canadian Red Cross and was a former member of the Kenville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and St. Eulalie Rebekah Lodge No. 27, Kentville. She enjoyed baking and was an avid bowler. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Lynn Manning, Port Williams; Michele Manning (Perry Hillier), Kentville; sons, Albert "Sandy" (Ramona Vaughan), Coldbrook; David, Kentville; grandchildren, Scott (Roxanne), Vicki, Matthew (Kristy), Mark, Katie (Bobby); great-grandchildren, Lauren, Cohen, Rachael, Chase, Allie, Chloe and Austin; a sister, Judy (Jon) Rand, Port Williams; sister-in-law, Cecile Crowell; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Albert "Shine"; sisters, Eunice, Marjorie, Vivian, Pauline; brothers, Edward, Wayne and Gordon. The funeral service will be held (with video webcast) at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Greg White officiating. A reception will be held in Meadowview Hall. Following the reception, the burial will take place in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville.
