Arthur Llewellyn Dukeshire

Dukeshire, Arthur Llewellyn – 97, of Berwick, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at his residence. Born in Digby, he was a son of the late Clarence and Mildred (Rowlette) Dukeshire.

Arthur worked in the fishing industry starting in his early teens. He moved to Ontario to work in steel construction building the Skyway Bridge (a.k.a. Uncle Arty’s Bridge). He returned home to Nova Scotia and finished his employment in the fishing industry.

Arthur is survived by his brother, Elwen (Bev), Ontario; son, Gary (Bonnie), Digby; daughter, Kelly (Trevor), Kingsport; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Garth, Victor, Floyd and Thomas Dukeshire; sisters, Flossie Handspiker and Hilda Smith; and son, Robert Dukeshire.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Arthur’s wishes there will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place in the Dukeshire Family Plot, Centreville Union Burial Cemetery, Digby Co. at a date to be announced in the coming weeks.
