Robert Hugh "Bob" "Woody" Woodworth

Woodworth, Robert (Bob) Hugh, "Woody" - 61, passed on Monday August 28, 2023, at home in Habitant surrounded by loved ones. Born in Pembroke, ON. Eldest son of Robie and Faith (Kynock) Woodworth.

Bob was a third generation Canadian infantry soldier. He served in the PPCLI and in the Logistics Branch. During his service to Canada, he completed two United Nations Peacekeeping Tours (Golan Heights and Cyprus).

Upon retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces, he worked as a long haul transport driver, primarily with Armour Trucking and Jeramand Trucking.

Bob loved his Harley motorcycles, CB and HAM Radios and his Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. He was known to enjoy a good meal, a wise crack, and the company of family. He found himself surrounded with all those things, even on his last day with us.

Throughout his battle with cancer, he showed wisdom, wit and tenacity. Above all, Bob was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Beyond his parents, he is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Janet (Gordon); daughters, Amanda Woodworth (Shawn Lyons), Kingsport; Holly Woodworth, Wolfville; brother, Dana (Shannon) Woodworth, Sunnybrook, AB; grandchildren, Phoenix Lyonsworth and Griffin Lyonsworth; nieces, Sarah (Kevin) McCreath and Rachelle (Taylor) Read, all of Stony Plain, AB; brother-in-law, Derrick Gordon, Vancouver, and dear family friend, Sheila Dean (Canning).

He was predeceased by infant sister Donna Lori.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held by the family on Saturday, September 30th from 1-4 pm at his home. Bob was grateful for the kindness and care he received from the VON Annapolis Valley, the Chemo Clinic at the Valley Regional Hospital and the Palliative Care Team. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Canning and Area Food Bank. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
