Earl Edward "Sonny" Davidson
1941-2023

DAVIDSON, Earl Edward "Sonny" – age 81, of Kentville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by family. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Earl Davidson and Stella (Atwell) Deveau.
Sonny started out working doing construction with V.C. Woodworth for many years and then was a well-known taxi driver for many years. Sonny really enjoyed playing shuffleboard, Darts, yard sales, dancing, music, live bands, He also really enjoyed driving seniors around and his friends and anyone that needed a drive. He was a long-time member of the Kentville Legion and also an avid Thursday night Dart player. He also enjoyed going to Fun Night at the Meadowview Hall in Kentville for several years. His morning Tim Hortons with his friends. He also practiced Karate in his early years in Kentville where he obtained his Green Belt.
Sonny will be deeply missed by his children, Devon Davidson, (Natasha Rogers), Kingsport and Sarah Davidson (Dan Almon), New Minas; brothers, Basil (Gayle) Davidson, Kentville; Joe Davidson, Thorold, ON; Jim Davidson, St. Catharines, ON; and John (Donna) Deveau, Hamilton, ON; sisters, Phyllis Davidson, Windsor; Sheila Deveau, Kentville; Margaret (Ray) Barkhouse, Truro; Nancy Deveau, Cornwall, ON and Myrtle (Donnie) Comeau, Centreville; grandchildren, Jamie Stoddart, Kelsey Davidson, Lucas Davidson and Addison Davidson; great-granddaughter, Shyanne Deveau; step grandchildren; Ross Rogers, Clara Rogers, Savannah Rogers-Harvey, Phoebe Davidson, Drake and Drennan Rogers, Abby, Angelina and Daniel Almon; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. His niece Koren Davidson was more like a daughter to him, and his first wife Ruby Johnstone.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Jim Dagley brothers, Ralph, Reginald, Gerald Davidson and Maurice "Buddy" Morine; and sisters, Darlene Adams, Joyce Gates, Ella Alsley, Helen Hiltz and Geraldine Pinch.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service (with a video webcast) will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, Reverend Thelma MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Following the interment, a reception will be held in the Meadowview Community Centre. The family would like to extend thanks to ICU Nurse Jumoke and VON for their exceptional care, with special thanks to Ruby Johnstone for being there every day for Sonny.
