Charlyn Michele (Croft) Webster

1963-2023

Charlyn Michele (Croft) Webster

It is with broken hearts that the family of Charlyn Michele (Croft) Webster, age 60, of Cambridge, announce her unexpected passing on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born September 1, 1963, in Wolfville, she was the daughter of the late Heston and Dawn (Jodrey) Croft.

Charlyn was a cherished mother, wife, sister, and friend. In her early years, she could always be found dancing through Wolfville on a Friday night, tubing down the Gaspereau river, or sliding through the bases of Valley ballfields. She helped her father with his plumbing business and took any time she could to travel the world with her mother. Charlyn and Chris were married in May 1995, and together built their dream house on Waterville Mountain. Micayla and Stephen arrived, and the house became a home.

Her style was always vibrant, fun, and bright. She was a hostess extraordinaire! Charlyn loved having people around her and went the extra mile with food, music, and thoughtful acts. Her home was always decked to the nines for every holiday and special occasion, and she loved hosting parties and events. Once she started laughing, it was nearly impossible not to laugh along with her. She was a star at making everyone feel like they belonged, even if she’d just met them. She was the kindest mother hen to all of her children’s friends and they loved her dearly. She offered many free therapy sessions, meals, and a place to stay; ensuring they were always well cared for and loved was her top priority.

Charlyn was a creative soul. She tole painted, spent hours in her garden, and loved photography. Everyone called her the selfie queen, as she made sure to never miss an opportunity to capture precious moments with those around her. Being a social butterfly, she loved live concerts, was an avid bingo player, looked forward to time at the cottage, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment with her "Fine Wine Friends."

She helped at the family farm for years and was most well-known for running the strawberry and raspberry u-picks. She was a respected and popular Epicure consultant; travelling around for national conferences but always able to pull just the right spice order out of her stash for a friend.

She had strong connections with many organizations. She attended years of War Amps seminars, chaperoned with Mary’s Islanders trips, helped with Sunday school, and was very active with Cambridge Elementary and Central Kings; volunteering with the band program, home and school, and graduation activities. In addition, she was the treasurer for Valley Thunder Lacrosse and the Scotia Minor Lacrosse League.

Above all else, Charlyn was an incredible wife, a dedicated and loving mother, and a best friend to many. Her family and friends were her highest priority, and she would never let a day go by without letting her children know how proud of them she was. She will be forever missed by those who had the opportunity to know and love her. She lived a remarkable life, dedicating herself to those who mattered most.

Charlyn is survived by her husband, Chris Webster, and their children, Micayla and Stephen Webster; brothers, Peter (Beverly) and Alan (Cindy); brothers-in-law, Greg (Debbie), Brian (Kathy), Trent, and Donnie (Chrissy); sister-in-law, Linda (John) Schubert; beloved cat Bruno, as well as countless family and friends.
