It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Ellen Patton (Bennett) announces her passing on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her loving son, Devin and her loving partner, Mark. She is also survived by brothers: Jerry (Natalie), Ross (Faith), Barry (Joy), Raymond, David (Anne) and John; sisters: Mary (Keith), Christine (Jimmy), Anna (Tommy), Caroline (Jimmy) and Jenny (Shaun); many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Amos and Allaine Bennett and her brother, Philip.
Ellen worked at the Department of Community Services as a receptionist for many years. Everyone who knew Ellen knew that she was an avid thrift store hunter, loved to buy and give generously from her heart. She was compassionate, supportive and a loyal friend to everyone she met, including her son’s friends who affectionately called her "Momsie". Ellen’s favourite place to be was sitting by the ocean where she felt most at peace.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service by request. A Celebration of Ellen’s life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
