Vince Robert John "Vinny" Cashen

1992-2023

Vince Robert John "Vinny" Cashen

Cashen, Vince Robert John "Vinny" – 31, of Kentville, Nova Scotia, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Vince was born June 4th, 1992 to Diana Graves (Alonzo) and Martin Cashen. He grew up in the Annapolis Valley and was lucky enough to live in what he would tell you were "all of the beautiful spots", ranging from Kentville, to Canning, to Kingsport, to South Alton.

Vince’s childhood was filled with moments that will be cherished forever. Later in his childhood, he decided to join organized sports and formed a love for hockey and soccer. He played hockey for many years and won provincial championships. Vince will be remembered as fearless. He was a goalie in soccer and tormented opponents with his fearless style that arguably made him one of the best. Vince formed close friendships through his love of sports. He graduated from Northeast Kings Education Centre in 2010. Most recently, Vince grew a love for the game of golf, spending countless evenings either at the range or on the course.

Vince was a very hard worker. He spent most of his time working as a carpenter, which was instilled in his genes from both sides of the family. He worked throughout the Valley with his dad for many years, forming his craft and gaining knowledge from someone he cared about dearly.

Vince is survived by his mother, Diana Graves (Alonzo) and father, Martin Cashen; his brother, Marty Cashen (Michaela) and sister, Melanie Cashen (Michael). He was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Flora Graves and Michael and Annie Cashen.

If you were fortunate enough to know Vinny, you would learn quickly how big his smile was and that he had an even bigger heart. Vince cared for everyone the way they should be cared for. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

There will be no visitation or funeral service, respecting Vince’s wishes. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 25th from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Kentville Lion’s Club. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.
