Cheryl Ann Paynter

Cheryl Ann Paynter – 64, of New Minas, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at home. Born in Oshawa, ON, she was a daughter of Catherine (Kirk) Paynter, Evergreen Home, Kentville and the late Earl Paynter.

Cheryl worked for many years as a talented hairdresser and was also a librarian. She was well known in the dog showing world for at least the last 20 years, where she had great success in showing her pugs, and then breeding her pugs. She made many friends in that circuit who will miss her greatly. Cheryl attended the Canard United Church for many years and had a wide circle of friends there who will also miss her dearly.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, Catherine; sister, Cynthia "Cindy" Doiron; niece, Sarah (Ryan) Farnsworth and their children, Jackson, Riley and Amelia; nephew, Tyler Doiron; as well as numerous cousins and extended family.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Ernie Doiron.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A combined Celebration of Life Service for Catherine, Earl and Cheryl will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. in the Orchard Valley United Church, New Minas. Interment will take place at a later date, in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville.  Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada.
