Willett Eldon "Bill" Kennedy

1935-2023

Willett Eldon "Bill" Kennedy

Willett Eldon "Bill" Kennedy – age 88, of Sheffield Mills, died on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in Valley Hospice, Kentville. He was a son of the late Waldon and Jennie (Harris) Kennedy.

Growing up on the farm, Bill had a strong work ethic and worked on the Dominion Atlantic Railway for 35 years as Signal Maintainer and foreman. He was an athlete playing hockey and baseball and had a passion for fishing, hunting and trapping, but above all else, he was a fantastic storyteller. Bill had a passion for his home which he and his wife Joan designed and built for their family. For over 50 years, family and friends enjoyed the cottage he built in Granville Centre every summer.

Bill is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Michael (Angela), Kenneth (Robin), Heather and Robert (Janet); grandchildren, April (Marin), Christopher (Nicole), Alicia (Cameron), Danielle (Andrew) and Kyle (Whitney); and great-grandchildren, Luka and Mason.  He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Lionel (Helen).

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Melanie MacNeil and the members of Palliative Care, VON and Valley Hospice, for their care of Bill through his difficult journey.
