It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jo-Ann Alberta Thomas on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Joan (Connors) Harrigan.

Jo-Ann worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia, Canning and New Minas branches, for 41 years where she started as a teller and moved her way up.

Jo-Ann will be greatly missed by her husband of 42 years Stephen; daughter Jennifer (Jeffrey) MacDonald, Ontario; sister Brenda Harrigan, Greenwich; brother Timothy Harrigan, Kentville; brother in-law Bill (Cathy) Thomas, Kentville; sister in-law Marianne Tupper, Tatamagouche. She will forever be Nanny to Zachary, Greyden and Briar MacDonald; Dear Aunt to Kristie (Les) Card, Hants County; Colleen (Sean) Edwards, Kentville; Ben Thomas, British Columbia; Matthew (Melissa) Thomas, Alberta; Great Aunt to Hayden and Austin Edwards; Easton and Camden Thomas; and Juliette Thomas. Jo-Ann will also be missed by her beloved little dog Molly who was never far from her side. She will be missed by many friends that were more like family and the many colleagues that became friends.

Jo-Ann was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Joan Harrigan; sister in-law, Faye (Tim) Harrigan; brothers-in-law, Philip Foster (Brenda) and Scott (Marianne) Tupper.

As per Jo-Ann's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Instead, Jo-Ann wanted a celebration of life which will take place at a later time. Donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or another organization of choice. Cremation has been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
