Gerald Roy "Gerry" Clement
Gerry Clement passed away at Valley Hospice in Kentville,
Nova Scotia, on November 27th, 2023. Gerry was born on March 28th,
1935 to the late William James Clement and Bronwen Morgan in
Pontarddulais, Wales, in the UK. He was the youngest of 3 children;
pre-deceased by a brother and a sister, Richard (Dick) and Kathleen.
Gerry grew up in Wales, spent time in the RAF, assisted his family in their various retail businesses, and worked for Standard Telephones in Harlow, Essex, England for many years. In the early 1960’s he met Sylvia Limm, they fell in love, and were married at St. Paul’s Church in Harlow, Essex on September 14th, 1963. Sylvia gave birth to two daughters. Gerry was devoted to Sylvia until her death from Alzheimer in April 2022.
In 2002 Gerry and Sylvia emigrated to Canada and spent the last twenty plus years enjoying retirement and experiencing many beautiful times in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
He was a loving and devoted husband and father and will be deeply missed. He was an intelligent man with a talent for painting pictures, singing Barbershop and helping his daughters as much as he could. Gerry’s personality was appreciated by all who met him over the years.
Gerry is survived by his daughters, Vanessa Pearson, of New Minas, and Joanne Welsh, of Essex, England; grandchildren, Rebecca Pearson (Chris MacMillan), Alex Pearson, Joseph Welsh, Matthew Welsh and James Welsh; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Gerry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
