Doreen Ann (Kennedy) Foote – 75, of Ross Corner, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville with her loving family by her side. Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Pauline (Coleman) Kennedy.

Prior to retirement, Doreen was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She loved being a nurse, and she became known as the community nurse in Ross Corner, for people, pets and livestock. 

Doreen will be deeply missed by her husband of 55 years, Lawrence Foote; daughter, Tammie (Dale) McLearn, Woodville; chosen son, Hayden (MacKenzie) Sutherland and their children, Amelia and Scarlett, Shelburne; siblings, Ronald (Jean) Kennedy, Trenton, ON; and Audrey Foote (Tim Henderson), Black Rock; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, George and Jill Kennedy.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks of appreciation to Dr. Murphy, Dr. Mindrum, Dr. Nunn, ICU nurse, Lauren RN, and dear friend, Wendy Coolen, for the exceptional care and compassion Doreen received.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A celebration of Doreen’s life was held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 in the Woodville Community Hall. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville. For those unable to attend, a video webcast will be available on-line by Sunday, June 16. Donations in memory may be made to Diabetes Canada. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
