Jean Ellen Lewis

Jean Ellen Lewis, 85, of New Minas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at home.  Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Kathleen (McManus) White. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children, Frank (Lynn), Olds, AB; Ernie (Andrew), Bermuda; Heather (Dave), Penticton, BC; Ellen, at home; and Gerald (Angela), Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Ryan (Kiersty), Aaron, Sydney (Zach), Stephanie, Nikolas and Lindsey; a sister, Kathleen "Cass" Foster, Wolfville; countless friends and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Bernard "Bernie" (2015) and a sister, Mary King. In keeping with Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024, in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A funeral Mass, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in Corpus Christi Parish, Kentville, Father John MacPherson officiating. A video webcast of the service will be available on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Jean will be laid to rest with her husband in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. The family is grateful for the kindness shown to Jean and her family by Dr. Michael Wadden, Annapolis Valley Home Care and Nova Scotia Continuing Care. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Alzheimer Society, SPCA, Catholic Women’s League - Corpus Christi Parish, Kentville or any charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
