Eleanor Jean Rogers

Eleanor Jean Rogers – 97, formerly of New Minas, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Anderson and Etta (Dewar) Rogers and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Eleanor graduated from Wolfville High School. In 1967, at 40 years old, she returned to school to become a teacher, through the New Brunswick Institute of Technology, Moncton and Acadia University, Wolfville. She went on to teach cosmetology and beauty culture for 21 years at Nova Scotia Community College, Kingstec Campus, Kentville, retiring as the Program Head. She thoroughly enjoyed being involved in school activities and teaching others about beauty culture. She is survived by, estranged daughter, JoAnn; son, Peter; daughter, Nanette; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren. Special thanks to Marion Kelly, for her support and kindness over the years. Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A private graveside service will be held in the Canard Burial Ground. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
