Mom was a quiet person, always well dressed, but soft spoken. She enjoyed gardening, outdoor walks and doing puzzles. The puzzle board and a lamp were close to the kitchen table in case a visitor wanted to help put a few pieces in. When she lost her abilities to do those things she loved, she found it hard to keep a positive attitude about life. She did keep her smart sarcasm most of us knew her for until the end though. We will remember Mom in those better times when she loved to bake and play with our children. She was an awesome cook, making delicious meals for family events. Later she passed some of her secrets to some of us that kept up the family meals for special occasions which she enjoyed attending.
Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff at Evergreen Home for the professional care they showed Mom over the past couple of years and for all their support and kindness through this difficult time.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17 in the Black River Community Hall, 989 Deep Hollow Road. The burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Black River Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online condolences and inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
